Kylie is a Japanese American artist, born in Okinawa, Japan. She has grown to use art as a creative outlet and appreciates how visual art can be a universal language that can be received across cultures and languages. The arts were significant to her growing up as they helped her adjust to living in a new environment with physical, cultural, and lifestyle differences.

Kylie is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.F.A. in Art Education. She is currently an art educator at an elementary school.

Kylie creates work in several different mediums ranging from painting to ceramics to printmaking. She is constantly motivated by the challenge of working in a new medium or with a new technique. She likes to scaffold her current methods with new ones. She hopes that her motivation to continue growing her art knowledge will make her a more knowledgeable educator and encourage future students to develop their knowledge too.
